For most of my career I was a computer mapping analyst and designer. I wasn't sure what to do after early retirement. I was invited to a party at a shop that provides acrylic painting classes with BYO wine. I was hooked. On the painting, not the wine.
My favorite art store had classes for adults, so I signed up. The teacher was excellent and still selling his paintings. He was also 88 with many stories to share. Charles taught many classes for adults and children that were based on talent. He moved me to the most advanced class within a year. For 4 years I was a sponge for his teaching until we moved to Colorado.
I have been selling my paintings for 5 years. Etsy seemed like a nice way to help me with marketing and finding new customers. I have had 4 paintings selected for juried shows, where Hands of an Artist received an Honorable Mention award. I paint every day I am at home.
I hope you find something you like, or maybe something interesting. If you see a painting you like that was sold, ask if I can paint a similar or customized one.
